Candles and Fire Safety

The soaring popularity of candles has led to an increase in reported candle fires. The U.S. Fire Administration estimates that candles are responsible for approximately 10,000 residential fires each year, 1,000 civilian injuries, 85 fatalities and $120 million in property loss.

It’s not just children you need to worry about.  Pet owners, ever watch your cat jump up on the table or counter when there was a lit candle, or how about your dog,  innocently walking by a table  wagging his tail, and it brushes up against the candle?
