The thermometer works great. The interface could be a little better and instinctual, but the manual cleared up any questions we had.  It does everything it says it will do. However, know that you must synch the two units upon initial use. You have to turn both units on at the exact same time. This makes them synch-up with each other. Its construction is solid and of good materials. There are plenty of modes to select how well you want something cooked, but they are easily adjustable to your taste.

The range is excellent, and the temperature probe cable length is generous. There are two additional features that we feel are important. 1) It warns you when the meat temperature is 5 degrees away from the target temperature, this allows you to remove the meat at that time and allow the carry over cooking to reach the final temperature, keeping the meat from over cooking; and 2) you can manually set a target temperature of your own choosing.

We have tried different thermometer products for cooking, but this one is by far one of the best thought out designs yet.
